The Doctor! Doctor! Dialog Card Game contains teaching instructions and a handy student handout for 20 common medical problems that clearly shows the difference between “I have” and “I am” problems, common medical advice, and dialog suggestions for each level from lit to level 3, plus 8 card decks on different-coloured card stock. (You need 2 decks per group of 3 to 5 students.)
To play, students take turns asking another student in the group what the problem is. For example, for literacy level, S1 says, Hi Lee, what’s the matter? and S2 states a problem based on a card they have: I have a headache. If S1 has the same card, they say, Me too! But if he doesn’t have the same card, he must give appropriate advice: Maybe you should take some medicine. There are dialog suggestions for Levels lit to 3, along with substitution suggestions for giving advice and responding to problems.
Objective: oral fluency in identifying and responding to medical problems and giving advice.
(pre-lit to level 3) Price $25.00
